John is Chairman of Anglicare WA and is a board member of Perth International Arts Festival. He has been working with boards and executive teams on strategic issues and governance challenges for almost two decades. During that time, he has seen increasing engagement of boards in strategy and in the development of strategic thinking capabilities. This has not been without its challenges however. Research of CEOs over five years, conducted by Barrington Consulting Group, indicated only low-moderate value-adding contribution by boards. John will discuss the common themes and how directors can enhance their strategic contribution.
